Aguero Stars As City Thrash Swansea

Kolarov Rescues City In Champs Lge

Manchester City's new £38 million signing Sergio Aguero announced his Premier League arrival in style with two debut goals as City thrashed Swansea 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Aguero was only on the pitch for the final 31 minutes of the match but had an almost-instant impact, scoring City's second goal within nine minutes of coming off the subsitutes' bench.

He went on to set up David Silva for City's third and completed the rout with a stunning strike from distance in injury time.

Edin Dzeko had earlier put City ahead after 57 minutes.

City manager Roberto Mancini said he expects Aguero to become even sharper: "He needs another two to three weeks to be 100%, maybe.

"For me he's a fantastic striker, young, and he's going to be a fantastic player for us."

Swansea had kept City at bay for almost an hour, with goalkeeper Michel Vorm denying David Silva in the second half and Stephen Dobbie forcing a save at full-stretch from Joe Hart shortly after the re-start.
