UK To Bask In Sunshine After Soggy Spring

After one of the soggiest springs in living memory, warm and sunny weather is finally heading our way.

This week could see temperatures climbing to a balmy 25C this week, right on cue for the Chelsea Flower Show .

Sky News weather presenter Isobel Lang said: "It's hard to believe, but after weeks of wearing scarves and coats, we'll be able to pull out our summer clothes this week.

"The outside tables of restaurants and cafes will be desirable for a change as temperatures slowly climb towards the mid-twenties Celsius or high seventies Fahrenheit."

Lang added: "Tuesday to Saturday look warm and at times beautifully sunny.

"At last year's Chelsea Flower Show I remember sheltering under the Pavilion roof as the rain thundered down."

Sadly, the sunshine is not expected to stay around too long.

"There are signs that some showery weather will spread in across southwestern parts either later this week or through the coming weekend," Lang said.

The message, however, is do not be disheartened... there are still some positive signs for the month as a whole.

"It is too far ahead to give details for the Diamond Jubilee weekend, however the general theme for early June is currently a fine one," Lang added.
