British City Makes It Into World’s Top Ten Friendliest Places

The weather might not be too balmy in Edinburgh - but the people are among the warmest and friendliest on Earth, according to Conde Nast Traveller.

Edinburgh was named sixth most friendly place to visit in the world - praised for its ‘wonderful pubs filled with laughter’.

Conde Nast Traveller also singled out the Scottish capital’s cultural scene, praising the city for its ‘local musicians playing and everyone smiling and singing along.’

The top ten is based on a million votes from 77,000 readers, and aims to find the destinations worldwide which offer the warmest welcome to tourists.

Sydney was number one, followed by Dublin at number two.
