China’s Futuristic Mountain Resort Looks Like Somewhere Tony Stark Would Live

Fresh from winning hosting duties for the 2022 Winter Olympics, China has unveiled pictures of the amazing mountain resort it is building.

The renderings show the Dawang Mountain Resort as a glittering five-star complex, complete with space-age design, a 100m tower block and a huge 200ft waterfall that drops water into a quarry pit below.

The tower will house 270 hotel rooms, while the “Deep Pit Ice and Water World” will offer visitors a number of activities to keep them busy - a water park, indoor ski slope, outdoor swimming pool and shopping mall are all set to be included in the 150,000-square-metre resort.

But these are only renders of what the resort is intended to look like. Based near the city of Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, construction on the hotel began in 2014.

There’s no word yet on when the entire resort is likely to be finished - although presumably the plan is to have it open well in advance of the 2022 Winter Olympics to be held in Beijing.
