Madonna Hoping To Stay On Her Feet For New Tour

Madonna Hoping To Stay On Her Feet For New Tour

Madonna has announced a new worldwide tour - just days after she tumbled off the stage in front of millions at the Brit Awards.

The Queen of Pop will take her Rebel Heart tour to 35 cities in Europe and North America, with dates to be announced in Australia and Asia.

The singer, 56, is due to perform in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow in December.

Madonna has previously been criticised for the cost of tickets for her concerts - up to £140 for her MDNA tour in 2012.

Last week she revealed she had suffered whiplash injuries after her fall at the Brits, which came when her Armani cape was tied too tightly around her neck.

"I had a little bit of a whiplash and I smacked the back of my head," she told the Jonathan Ross show, in an appearance to be broadcast later this month.

"So there was a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3am making sure I was still conscious."

She denied it was a publicity stunt.

In 2008/9, Madonna's Sticky & Sweet concerts became the highest-grossing tour ever by a solo act.

Madonna releases her 13th studio album, Rebel Heart, on 9 March in the UK and new single Living For Love, which she performed as she stumbled in front of millions of viewers, has received a boost in the charts since the fall.

Live Nation's president of global touring, Arthur Fogel, said: "Madonna continues to be one of the most successful touring artists in history - her shows are legendary and we are thrilled to have her going back on tour."
