New iPad: What am I bid for this (fourth) place in the queue?

Desperate to get your hands on the new iPad? Well, there's good news and bad news.

The good news is there's a space close to the front of the queue - fourth.

The bad news is you'll have to bid online for the spot and at the time of writing it was costing the prospective queue-jumper £76.

The bid opened three days ago for a slot in the queue outside the Apple store in London's Regent Street which opens at 8am on Friday.

There is no indication that the eBay seller - called Se7enthheaven - is anything other than genuine. He or she also appears to indicate that they are already in the queue because they say that 'a cup of coffee and a muffin will also be greatly appreciated upon arrival'.

All will be revealed on the day as to who is really in the fourth slot, Se7enthheaven or a successful bidder.

Se7enthheaven, who has bought and sold on eBay since 2007, wrote in the description: “The queue outside the store is already 300 long. I took my place by mistake in the queue two days ago not realising it was the queue for the new Apple iPad 3 to be released in UK on 16th March.

“I don't require the position now as I am not an Apple fan and am therefore putting it up for sale to the highest bidder.”

“Buyer must make their own provisions for any overnight stay should they decide to take up the position earlier. A cup of coffee and a muffin will also be greatly appreciated upon arrival. A sleeping bag (used) can be provided for £30 (not included in the auction)."
