Newlywed Tindall Was 'Kissed By Party Girl'

England's rugby manager has defended the conduct of captain Mike Tindall after he was apparently filmed in the arms of a woman - seven weeks after marrying the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips.

:: The CCTV footage, which has no sound

CCTV footage, which emerged on YouTube, shows Tindall and several other squad members - currently in New Zealand for the World Cup - enjoying a night out in Queenstown.

The grainy footage apparently shows Tindall talking to a "beautiful blonde" in a bar which was hosting a dwarf-throwing contest.

He appears to be seen holding the mystery woman's hand, before being hugged by her and receiving a kiss on top of his head.

The Sun newspaper claimed that the rugby star was targeted by the woman.

"One particularly beautiful blonde went straight for Mike, but rather than reject her advances, unfortunately he was extremely responsive," a source was quoted in the paper.

"They were flirting with each other and getting very touchy-feely".

Manager Martin Johnson said he gave his squad time off to have a drink and "relieve the pressure" of the World Cup last Sunday night after Tindall had captained England to a 13-9 victory over Argentina.

"The guys were out having a few drinks, as other teams have done in the same town during the World Cup in their buildups," Johnson said.

"There's no difference. It's just the way it's been reported."

Johnson said England management had received no complaint or any evidence of wrongdoing by Tindall or his teammates.

"If there's a complaint and someone says 'one of your players acted inappropriately,' we would act upon it," Johnson said.

"The manager of the bar has said the England players' behaviour was perfectly acceptable all evening.

"There's no implication from anyone there that we've heard, that there's been any bad behaviour."

New Zealand television reported that the bar had fired its security company following the leak of the CCTV footage.

Tindall, who has not spoken publicly about his night out, married Zara , a former equestrian world champion, at a private ceremony at Edinburgh's Canongate Kirk on July 30.

Despite being billed as a private wedding, the royal nuptials still had the air of a national event - with the couple proving a big draw for the public.
