Pics Of Belgian Killer's Gun And Drug Stash

Pictures have emerged of a stash of weapons and cannabis farm belonging to the gunman who opened fire and hurled grenades at a crowded Belgian square.

Nordine Amrani, a welder by trade, shot himself dead after killing a cleaner at his apartment, then two teenagers and a baby during his subsequent rampage in Liege.

A 75-year-old woman shot during the city centre attack later died, bringing the death toll to five (excluding Amrani) with 125 people wounded.

It is now known the 33-year-old had a series of brushes with the law including charges for drug dealing, petty theft, illegal arms possession, and rape in 2003.

He served five and a half years in prison.

The photographs show a cache of guns, military-style clothing and a huge cannabis factory containing more than 2,000 plants found at his home in 2007.

The images emerged as it was claimed Amrani's state of mind before his killing spree had been seriously affected by continued police attention on him.

Belgian media reported a police inquiry was looking into sexual harassment claims against him.

A colleague told RTL radio the inquiry was sapping Amrani's morale, saying: "He said to me: 'In December I'm going to have judicial problems again.' He was stressed out about this."

One of his lawyers, Abdelhadi Amrani, who is not a relative, said the killer had "hands of gold" as a mechanic.

"He could pull apart a vehicle and put it together again practically with his eyes shut," he said.

"He liked arms and had a record but he was a very poised, very calm man. I would never have expected him to be behind the drama in Liege.

"He must have snapped," he told RTBF television.

The lawyer said that once when visiting Amrani in prison he had said he felt "harassed" by police and admitted to being "desperate and at times having black thoughts".
