Police Question Mother Over Baby Deaths

Police are questioning a mother - named as Felicia Boots - detained on suspicion of killing her two babies just days after the family into a new home in southwest London.

A 10-week-old boy and his 14-month-old sister, Lily Sky Boots, were discovered unconscious by their father, Jeff Boots, when he returned to the house in Killarney Road, Wandsworth on Wednesday, according to reports.

Mrs Boots, who is in her 30s and a trained hairdresser, was arrested at the house after emergency services were unable to revive the children.

Mr Boots, an investment banker, and his wife are understood to have moved to the UK in the last few years from Canada.

Officers are investigating the possibility that Mrs Boots was suffering from post-natal depression.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said post-mortem examinations on the two children would take place in due course.

Neighbour Jackie Cook said that the couple had only moved into the £1.2m house within the last two weeks.

She said: "It's such a tragedy, I can't believe it. Last night there were police swarming everywhere. There were ambulances and police cars all along the road."

Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, said the family seemed "very nice".

She said: "It's a lovely area. We're very shocked."
