Reward For Freedom Fighting Cow On The Run

Animal rights activists have enlisted the help of a bull and animal psychics to save the life of a freedom-fighting cow.

Yvonne, a six-year-old dairy cow, has been on the run since May, much to the dismay of her owners who were preparing her to be slaughtered.

Thought to have sensed its impending death, the cow escaped from her field in Zangberg, breaking an electric fence on her way.

The cow has since gained a fair deal of notoriety in the region, with one newspaper calling her "a kind of freedom fighter for the animal loving German republic."

Animal rights protesters were incensed when it was reported that local hunters had been given permission to shoot Yvonne on sight.

They have now taken to extreme measures, including enlisting the help of a bull to ensure they catch the cow before the hunters.

Michael Aufhauser, founder of the Gut Aiderbichl sanctuary and currently leading the search for Yvonne, said that the bull, has "a deep baritone moo that will appeal to Yvonne."

He added that Ernst was the "George Clooney of bulls" with its manly musk and husky tones.

An animal psychic has also been brought in to communicate with Yvonne.

Franziska Matti, an animal communication expert said she had managed to speak to Yvonne through telepathy: "I spoke to her yesterday... she was fine but didn't feel ready to come out of hiding."

Aufhauser hopes that seeing the bull, together with Yvonne's sister Waltraut will be enough to lure her out of hiding.

It is not just animal activists who have joined the search after German tabloid Bild offered a 10,000 Euro reward for the safe return of Yvonne.
