A house fire on Frecker Drive sent one person to the hospital Wednesday afternoon in St. John's.

The RNC said it responded to the fire shortly before 2 p.m. NT.

Fire and ambulance crews were already on the scene at the time of police arrival.

One person was taken to the hospital for injuries resulting from the fire, the RNC told CBC News.

The RNC said it is investigating the cause of the fire.
