Attracting over half a million visitors every year with about two-thirds of them being foreigners, the War Remnants Museum of Vietnam is the most popular museum in the country. The museum, that began as an exhibition in 1975 to showcase alleged war crimes by the French and Americans, contains exhibits not just from the Vietnam War but also from the first Indochina War with the French colonialists.

Some of the top museums in India may not have figured in TripAdvisor’s list of the most popular museums in the country, but that’s not necessarily the case with the international museums.
