Gardening enthusiasts looking for a quick fix to add some colour to their gardens are in luck, as one expert has revealed the top 'fuss-free' plants that promise rapid growth and stunning blooms.

Those who want to ensure a garden full of flowers this summer, but perhaps don't have time on their side, should turn to fast-growing plants, according to David Domoney, a renowned gardening expert.

Whether you're after vibrant flowers, seeking a bit more privacy in your garden, the celebrity gardener suggests opting for shrubs to quickly fill in empty spaces.

The horticulturalist explained: "If you're looking to plug some gaps in your existing garden, or you're starting your garden from scratch, the following shrubs will put on plenty of vigorous growth to fill bare corners quickly with their lush leaves and beautiful flowers."

Domoney continued, highlighting the benefits of these plant choices: "These options are fast-growing and full of colour so there will be minimal waiting time between planting and enjoying their beautiful displays. Plus, many of them are really easy to grow and suit many soil types and positions, so are perfect for beginners."

He concluded by emphasising the immediate impact these shrubs can have: "Fast-growing shrubs provide a hit of 'instant' impact in the garden, perfect for filling space while slower-growing varieties get established."
