Half term is almost here, which means many families will be looking to take a short break and enjoy some well-earned time off. Finding the right place can sometimes prove tricky, especially if you've left things until the last minute.

But there's one holiday park which still has some availability for the May break and families have described it as 'fantastic'. The place, which previous holidaymakers have said they'd '100 per cent recommend', is Cayton Bay, in Scarborough, England’s oldest seaside resort in North Yorkshire.

Families can drive there from Manchester in under three hours and soon be enjoying the many facilities it has to offer. Youngsters can splash around at the onsite indoor Waterworld fun pool with flume, brave the high ropes course and bungee trampolines, compete in a game of crazy golf or laser quest, and so much more.

There's a sports dome, bike and kart hire, laser quest, a multi-sports court and a virtual reality experience.

Detailing what there is to do on and off the site, Hoseasons states: "Win big on the slot machines at the amusements, enjoy fish and chips by the shore or explore a wealth of rare marine life, including seals, otters and penguins, at Sea Life Scarborough, just a 10-minute drive away.

"Uncover one of the area’s hidden gems on a clifftop walk straight from your doorstep, which offers stunning views across the North Sea, before leading to Hayburn Wyke waterfall. Spend your stay in a modern caravan complete with a fully-equipped kitchen and veranda with outdoor furniture. "

The park has almost 3.5k reviews on Tripadvisor where it has an overall rating of 4, 'very good'.

One holidaymaker, who visited earlier this month and gave it a five star rating, said: "We had a lovely time at Cayton Bay, it is our first time and we are very happy we came. We would 100% recommend this site. The staff are very friendly, especially the reception team, nothing was too much for them. We have booked to come again in October and we cannot wait.

"Our accommodation was very nice and clean and we were located so close to the complex which was a bonus. See you soon Cayton Bay."

Another visitor, who also rated it five stars, said: "Fantastic park. Friendly and entertaining. Would definitely recommend this to anyone with children who are young."

A 3-night stay from Friday, May 24 for up to 8 people costs from £309 (£12.89 pppn). Book online on the Hoseasons website here. Prices accurate at the time of writing and subject to availability.
