15-week road closure among public notices to be aware of this week

There are a number of important public information notices for communities in Norfolk to be aware of this week.

1. St Hughs Green Closure

St Hughs Green in Gorleston is set to close on June 3 and remain so for 15 weeks for £244,000 essential pavement maintenance.

The work will take the current pavement slabs up and replace them with an asphalt surface.

For the work to be carried out safely, certain sections of St Hughs Green road will be closed over the period as the pavement next to it is replaced.

Pedestrian and vehicular access to the property will be maintained as the work is carried out.

The work will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors.

2. Bridge closure

Pedestrians and cyclists are to face disruption as Hall Road Footbridge and Lakenham Way in Norwich will close from June 3 to June 7.

The bridge needs to be closed so the old plywood deck can be replaced and Lakenham Way will be shut for safety reasons during the day while works take place overhead.

Cyclists and pedestrians will be diverted on to the road bridge via the current crossing points and there will be signed ramps to get on and off Lakenham Way.

The work will cost £38,000 and be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors Tarmac.

3. Alburgh Road Closure

Alburgh Road in Hempnall will be closed for six days from May 28.

This is to carry out necessary drainage works.

The work will be carried out outside 31 and 33 Alburgh Road and a signed diversion will be in place.

The work will cost £7,300 and will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and its contractors.

4. The estate of Brenda Elizabeth Hood

Anyone having a claim against or an interest in the estate of Terence Owen Tye of Chapel Road in Attleborough, who died on March 1, is asked to send a written notice to the address below on or before July 2.

After this date, the estate will be distributed as per the notices received.

5. Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence

Daniel Edwards trading as Norfolk Prestige Fencing Ltd has applied for a licence to use Brundish Farm in Brundish Road in Raveningham as an operating centre for two goods vehicles.

Owners or occupiers of land near the site who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected should write to the Traffic Commissioner at Hillcrest House, 386 Harehills Lane, Leeds, LS9 6NF.
