18-month-old girl suffers serious injuries in Brambles Farm fall

An 18-month-old girl has been rushed to hospital after suffering 'serious injuries' in a fall.

Police, ambulances, and an air ambulance were called to Cranfield Avenue, in the Brambles Farm area of Middlesbrough, on Thursday morning after the incident involving the tot. Reports suggest the air ambulance landed in the field off Colmore Avenue.

Cleveland Police has confirmed that the youngster was taken to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough by ambulance crews where her condition is not believed to be life-threatening. The force also said that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident this morning (9 May) on Brambles Farm in Middlesbrough at 8:33am. We dispatched one ambulance crew, one clinical team leader and supported by our colleagues at the Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient was taken to James Cook Hospital."

A statement from police said: "Police attended Cranfield Avenue in Middlesbrough this morning, after an 18-month-old girl suffered serious injuries following a fall. She was taken to James Cook University Hospital by land ambulance, where her condition is not believed to be life threatening. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
