2 Climbers Rescued 3,700 Meters Up Italian Mountain

Two climbers were rescued from the highest peak in Italy’s Cottian Alps on Saturday, April 13, with a helicopter crew coming to their aid on Monviso at an altitude of 3,700 meters.

Footage released by Italy’s Vigili del Fuoco fire service shows the rescue operation. The two mountaineers were airlifted to safety and taken away with an helicopter, the service said.

According to Rai news, the two French mountaineers were 150 meters from the peak when they became stranded.
