New For 2014: Audi

For the most part, Audi has avoided making drastic changes to its lineup of 2014 sedans, coupes, convertibles, and crossovers. That said, there are plenty of updates certainly worthy of mention, including a more powerful base engine for the A4, A5, A6, Allroad, and Q5, as well as new diesel-powered TDI variants of the A6, A7, A8, and Q5. The 2014 A7 also arrives with a new RS 7 trim level and the option of 4- or 5-passenger seating.

Most 2014 Audis arrive with revisions to their selections of standard and optional features, such as new wheel packages for the Q7 crossover and a revised navigation system for the TT coupe and roadster. The Audi R8 supercar, returning after a break for the 2013 model year, sports slightly revised styling, a new optional dual-clutch gearbox, and a V10 Plus trim level boasting 550 horsepower.

2014 Audi A4/S4

For 2014, Audi has boosted output for the A4's base turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine from 211 horsepower to 220. In addition, the sedan now features standard Bluetooth connectivity, a universal garage door opener, and a smartphone-linked audio interface. New options include an S line Style package offering unique 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive HID headlights, stainless steel trim, LED taillights, and more; Black Optic package with black trim, 19-inch alloy wheels, and body-color mirror housings; and an enhanced blind-spot monitoring system.

Buyers have the choice of A4 Premium, A4 Premium Plus, A4 Prestige, S4 Premium Plus, and S4 Prestige trim levels.

2014 Audi A5/S5/RS 5

Like the A4, the 2014 Audi A5 features a base 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 220 horsepower, up from 211 in 2013.

Available in all-wheel-drive (AWD) coupe and either FWD or AWD convertible configurations, the A5 lineup includes base, S5, and RS 5 variants (the RS 5 convertible was added after the start of the 2013 model year). The mid-level S5 is equipped with a supercharged, 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that delivers 333 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. of torque, whereas the RS 5 houses a 4.2-liter V-8 engine boasting 450 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque.

2014 Audi A6/S6

You'll need to look under the Audi A6 sedan's hood to find the most notable updates for 2014, among which are a more powerful turbocharged, 4-cylinder base engine and a newly available 3.0-liter diesel offering 428 lb.-ft. of torque and an EPA-estimated 38 mpg on the highway. Audi also offers the A6 with a 310-horsepower V-6 engine and a 420-horsepower V-8 that's reserved for use in the high-performance S6.

Like the A4, the 2014 A6 is now available with a Black Optic package and an enhanced blind-spot monitoring system, as well as power-folding mirrors, and a new Driver Assistance plus package comprised of intelligent cruise control, top-view camera, and more. All 2014 Audi A6 models feature standard heated front seats.

2014 Audi A7/S7/RS 7

The big news for the 2014 Audi A7 is the introduction of two new models: the diesel-powered 5-passenger TDI and the high-performance 4-passenger RS 7. According to the company, the former combines fuel economy of up to 38 mpg on the highway with the ability to reach 60 mph in only 5.5 seconds. The RS 7 can hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, Audi says, with credit going to its twin-turbocharged, 560-horsepower V-8 engine.

Audi offers the 2014 A7 in Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels, as well as S7 and the new RS 7 models. An enhanced blind-spot monitoring system is now standard on all but the base A7 Premium Plus variant, and a cornerview camera has been added to the available Driver Assistance plus package. All A7s are fitted with Audi's infotainment system.

2014 Audi A8/S8

A new TDI diesel engine option joins the A8 lineup for 2014, offering what Audi claims is up to 36 mpg on the highway, 406 lb.-ft. of torque, and the ability to sprint to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds. The TDI power plant is available only with long-wheelbase A8 models.

In addition to the TDI, shoppers considering the purchase of a 2014 Audi A8 have the choice of a 333-horsepower supercharged V-6, 420-horsepower turbocharged V-8, or a 500-horsepower W-12 (also limited to A8 L models). A 520-horsepower, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine is found under the hood of the high-performance S8.

Other updates for 2014 include a newly available Premium package consisting of heated and cooled power front seats with 22-way adjustment, Rear Seat Comfort plus package upgraded with massage functionality, and standard foot-activated trunk release.

2014 Audi Allroad
Updates for the 2014 Audi Allroad include the availability of the 220-horsepower, 4-cylinder base engine, new exterior paint colors, and the adoption of standard Bluetooth connectivity, a universal garage door opener, and a smartphone-linked audio interface. An enhanced blind-spot monitoring system is now an individual option.

2014 Audi Q5/SQ5

Audi's small crossover gets a TDI diesel engine option for 2014, as well as a new SQ5 variant featuring a supercharged V-6 engine, 20-inch alloy wheels, sporty exterior accents, and available black wood and aluminum interior trim. Buyers also have the choice of a base Q5 equipped with a 220-horsepower 4-cylinder engine or a hybrid variant boasting an EPA-estimated 30 mpg on the highway.

Among the 2014 Audi Q5's other changes are a new S line plus package with unique trim and alloy wheels, enhanced blind-spot monitoring system, and a standard smartphone-linked audio interface.

2014 Audi Q7

Compared with other models in the automaker's lineup, the 2014 Audi Q7's changes are relatively minor, and include standard HID headlights on all variants, as well as new 19- and 20-inch alloy wheel packages.

The Q7 is available in Premium, Premium plus, and Prestige trim levels, with power coming from a 240-horsepower diesel or 280-horsepower gasoline V-6 engine.

2014 Audi R8

The 2-passenger Audi R8 (offered in hardtop and convertible body styles) skipped the 2013 model year, but is back for 2014 with revised styling and a new 7-speed automated-manual transmission engineered to address many of the complaints logged against its predecessor. There's also a new top-of-the-line V10 Plus model that couples weight-saving strategies--more carbon-fiber parts and less sound insulation, for example--and a retuned 5.2-liter 10-cylinder engine to create a supercar capable of zipping to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, according to Audi.

A 525-horsepower V-10 engine is also available on the 2014 R8, as is a 430-horsepower V-8.

2014 Audi TT/TTS

Offered in coupe and convertible body styles, the Audi TT has been updated for 2014 with newly standard adaptive headlights, a 255-watt Bose sound system, and the S line exterior treatment. An S line Competition package adds gray calipers, and the optional navigation system now features a smartphone-linked audio interface and incorporates rear park-assist sensors.

TT and TTS trim levels are available. The TT RS model has been discontinued.
