2024 Twelfth of July venues across Northern Ireland announced

The Orange Order has announced the full list of venues across Northern Ireland that will host Twelfth of July possessions for 2024.

This year, 18 places across the country will be host to celebrations to mark the 334th anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne.

According to the latest edition of the Orange Standard, a newspaper issued by the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, the Twelfth demonstrations will follow the traditional Rossnowlagh parade in Donegal the weekend before.

Preparations are currently at "an advanced stage" with hundreds of thousands of people expected to participate or spectate this year.

The Orange Standard said: "Thousands of Orangemen, women and juniors – accompanied by in the region of 600 marching bands of all types – will be on parade at the various locations with much pageantry, colour and heritage on display.

"The County Armagh demonstration – which will be held in the village of Killylea this year – is firmly established as the largest Orange gathering in the world.

"Belfast hosts the longest Twelfth parade on the day, with participants walking over six miles to the field."
