Genesis GV60 Magma Will Enter Production in 2025Genesis

When Genesis first revealed the spicy GV60 Magma back in March ahead of the New York auto show, we knew the electric crossover was destined for production, and now we have more details about when that will be. Genesis today announced that the high-performance GV60 Magma will enter production in 2025. The first models will go on sale in Korea sometime in the third quarter of next year, with European models following in the fourth quarter. We expect the 2026 Genesis GV60 Magma to reach U.S. dealerships sometime in the first half of 2025.

Today's announcement, which took place at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, means the GV60 will be the first model from Genesis' new performance subbrand. The automaker will eventually extend the Magma treatment to the rest of the lineup, with a concept version of the Electrified G80 also appearing at Goodwood—unfortunately, Genesis didn't share any photos of the G80 yet.

Genesis says the production GV60 Magma will look a lot like the concept. Along with a lowered ride height and widened body, it will also feature unique chassis components and a specially tuned powertrain. We expect the latter will be similar to the dual-motor setup found on the 641-hp Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, as they both ride on the same E-GMP platform. More than likely, the hi-po GV60 will make over 641 ponies to maintain Genesis' position above Hyundai in the corporate hierarchy.
