3 Killed, Several Injured in Dusseldorf Explosion

At least three people were killed and 16 injured after an explosion and fire at a kiosk in Dusseldorf, Germany, early on Thursday morning, May 16, local media reported, citing city authorities.

The Dusseldorf Fire Service said two of the 16 were in a serious condition.

The fire spread from the street-level premises to apartments above, the fire service said. Some people had to be rescued from the balconies of the building. The cause was under investigation.
