Lockdown lifted on 3 Kitchener schools, Conestoga College after reports of man with gun

Lockdowns have been lifted at three Kitchener schools as well as Conestoga College's Doon campus.

Doon Public School, Pioneer Park Public School, St. Timothy Catholic Elementary School and Conestoga College's Doon campus are all located in the 200 Old Carriage Drive area of Kitchener where police say there were reports of a man seen walking outside with a gun.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) was asking residents to stay inside and avoid the area. Officers blocked off nearby roads and trails, but have since reopened roads and say there is no known threat to public safety at this time.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing, however.

A vehicle belonging to the Brantford Police K9 unit was seen in the area Wednesday morning as well.
