Grenfell Tower fire
In one of the most distressing photos of the year, thick smoke rises into the cloudless sky as over 200 firefighters from across London continue tackle the blaze at Grenfell Tower in North Kensington. Hurricane Irma aftermath
After Hurricane Irma struck Florida, two manatees were left stranded on the dried-out ocean floor. The animals found themselves high and dry when the water was sucked away near Sarasota, on Florida’s west coast. NFL ‘take the knee’ protest at Wembley
Following protests started by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, to raise awareness over racial injustice in the U.S., several players from the Jacksonville Jaguars (pictured) and Baltimore Ravens ‘took a knee’ while the American national anthem played before the NFL International Series match at Wembley in September.
