£300k-a-week for Eden Hazard? How Chelsea's top earners compare with Real Madrid's stars

Standard sport

Chelsea are confident they can repel interest from Real Madrid in Eden Hazard but will the Premier League leaders really be able to convince their star player to decline the temptations on offer at the Santiago Bernabeu?

Hazard, already Chelsea’s best-paid player, is expected to be offered a new contract that will see him handed a pay rise on his £200,000-a-week salary but if Real Madrid come knocking few players say no.

Particularly if they are offered the sort of astronomical salaries that Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are on. With Real Madrid reportedly considering breaking up their attacking trident, the third member of which is Karim Benzema, Hazard could certainly be looking at a pay packet beyond any figure in the Premier League.

After all if reports of a world-record £100million bid are to be believed then the world’s most expensive player will require a commensurate salary.
