Loosey LaDuca & Luxx Noir London’s “For The Girls” Lip Sync 👯 RuPaul's Drag Race Season 15

Loosey LaDuca didn’t necessarily have the judges – or most of the other contestants – on her side during RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15, but she did have a strong track record and a lot of fans who felt passionate about her as a drag performer.

Throughout season 15, LaDuca showcased her sense of humor by winning the Snatch Game, the Bubbly Comedy Festival challenge, as well as the iconic Reading (mini) challenge. In turn, she only had to lip sync for her life twice in the competition. LaDuca’s first time in the bottom was after the “Wigloose: The Rusical” challenge, where she sent Salina EsTitties home. She then landed in the bottom two once again as a result of the makeover challenge, this time losing the lip sync to Luxx Noir London.

Following her Drag Race elimination, LaDuca has shared a few sentiments in the press and on social media about her time in the competition and how some people have come to perceive her as a drag artist.

During her Watcha Packin’ interview with Michelle Visage, LaDuca revealed that she’s still very much working as a construction worker besides being a drag performer. “I literally poured concrete last week,” she told Visage. “I work for a company that is just absolutely amazing and incredible. I started [there] the same year that I started drag, so I’ve been doing this job for a very long time.” According to LaDuca, her boss is like a second father to her, and the other employees at that company are all supportive of her drag career. With that said, LaDuca does think that her career in construction might be coming to an end soon now that she has this huge Drag Race platform.

She had the most conflict with Mistress Isabelle Brooks and thinks that this was MIB’s strategy in the competition.

“Mistress [Isabelle Brooks] was very good at getting in people’s heads.” LaDuca noted in her Watcha Packin’ interview. When Visage asked if that was Brooks’ strategy on Drag Race, LaDuca replied with conviction: “One million percent yes, absolutely. And I think certain things started to shift with the girls when I was winning a lot back-to-back… [like] winning the Snatch Game and winning the Reading challenge right after.”

LaDuca is releasing a “Let Loose” remix with Jan and Lemon.

As of this writing, LaDuca’s original song “Let Loose” – which she performed at the grand premiere’s variety show – is close to reaching 200,000 listens on Spotify. Though she received critiques for her performance, the song has become one of the biggest Drag Race memes of the season. Now, LaDuca is prepping a brand-new remix of the song featuring none other than season 12 contestant Jan and Canada’s Drag Race fan-favorite Lemon.

She was surprised and hurt by Luxx Noir London calling her drag ‘generic.’

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, LaDuca was asked about how she felt after listening to Luxx Noir London praise every single queen in the competition and then say that LaDuca’s drag felt “generic” to her. “I was surprised by that. At the end of the day, I was hurt by it,” LaDuca responded.

She added, “I’m admittedly a sensitive person, and there’s no shame in that. There’s power in being sensitive. We worked so well together in the comedy challenge, and I helped her a lot. Comedy is my strength. I had so much fun working with her and so much fun being able to perform comedy with her. I was hurt to then be told that she finds me generic, when I feel like I was a big part of that second challenge win.”

LaDuca believes that she was ‘robbed’ of a spot in the finale.

LaDuca told Entertainment Weekly that, while filming season 15 of Drag Race, she “did feel kind of robbed. I felt that way at the time. It was tough.” She added when speaking about her elimination, “I never second-guessed anything, and I believe – and people can call me delusional – that I earned a spot in the finale. I was consistent enough and I succeeded in enough challenges that I rightfully should have made it to the finale. It was devastating.”

Nonetheless, LaDuca doesn’t want fans sending hate toward any of her costars. She wrote in a tweet: “I am going to say, yet again, do not send hate to any of my sisters. Do not comment on my posts and drag them down. You can send me support without insulting anyone else.”
