50p and 1p coins worth lots more - including one selling for £100,000

You might not think to check the change in your pocket, purse or wallet very often. But some rare coins can sell for a lot of money if you find a unique one in your collection.

Some may have a minting error, while others have a low mintage. The most desirable out there are often the ones that are hard to find, as reported by the Mirror.

Coin collectors have their eyes on the Kew Gardens 50p coin - as there are just 210,000 out there in the UK. There's even some older coins that could make you some money, whether it's a 3p or Half Crown.

There's also some random UK coins too that could be worth a lot. Over on TikTok, the CoinCollectingWizard, who has 143,000 followers, recently shared a video on which coins you should be looking out for. He listed three coins - including one that could be worth £100,000.

He shared: "The 1905 Half Crown from the UK with only 166,008 ever made, you can easily grab between £450 and £10,000 depending on the condition.

"The 1933 One Penny, the rarity makes it highly sought after by collectors and its scarcity contributes significantly to its market value. If you happen to have a 1933 UK Penny in your possession, then you are 100 per cent rich as this can easily sell for over £100,000."

He ended the post by describing the 1983 New Pence Two Pence which is considered rare due to a specific transition in the design of the coin. "In 1983, the Royal Mint began the process of changing the inscription of the two pence coin from new pence to two pence," he revealed. "If you find this rare coin you are looking at £1,000 plus."

Since the post was shared on TikTok, the video attracted 700 likes and dozens of comments. One said; "I have these coins."

Another added: "I have so many coins to sell." While others asked how to sell the coins.

Recently, the same TikTok user detailed the six rare 50p coins which can make you the big bucks. In the clip, the uploader discussed the Flopsy Bunny coin, as well as Mrs Tittlemouse's 50p.
