6 Hospitalized as Fireworks Land in Stadium Crowd During July Fourth Event

Six people were taken to hospital from a Fourth of July event at a stadium in Provo, Utah, after some misdirected fireworks landed in the crowd.

Video shot by Brooke Morrill at the Stadium of Fire event at LaVell Edwards Stadium shows the fireworks landing in the crowd right after a flyover by four military jets.

Event officials told KSLTV that six people were taken to hospital.

America’s Freedom Festival, of which the Stadium of Fire event was part, said on Facebook that their thoughts were with those who were injured.

“Safety is of the utmost importance to us. All pyrotechnics at Stadium of Fire are thoroughly checked before the show, and were rechecked after tonight’s incident. Our thoughts are with those who were impacted, and we are following up with them to make sure they are okay,” they said. Credit: Brooke Morrill via Storyful
