May half term is just around the corner, which means a full week of keeping the little ones entertained, but thankfully, there's plenty to do across Huddersfield during the school holidays.

From burning up some energy at a trampoline park to testing your strength at the rock climbing centre, we've put together a list of ten of the best things you can do in Huddersfield this half term, suitable for all ages.

Whilst we're enjoying some great weather in Yorkshire at the minute, we've made sure to select places that can be enjoyed in all weathers just in case things take a turn!

The school holidays can be an expensive time for families, especially with the ongoing cost of living crisis, so we have been careful to select activities that are affordable so you can enjoy a day out without breaking the bank.

Inflata Nation, in Folly Hall Mills, Huddersfield, is getting summer-ready and visitors are invited to join the party. And whatever the weather, inside will be decked out for a summery soiree.

Eureka! The National Children's Museum

Eureka! is one of Yorkshire's most popular museums for kids. With hands on exhibits to learning about the human body and eco systems, there's plenty to do and learn.

The museum even has a child-sized Town Square - complete with a Halifax bank, Marks and Spencer's store and the Eureka! house lets youngsters play cashier, discover where food comes from and use a working cash machine that dispenses Eureka bank notes.

The museum, in Discovery Road, Halifax, is open 10am-5pm daily during the school holidays. Standard admission includes a free annual pass, and children aged 0-11mths go free. Half Term fun at Cannon Hall Farm

After a four-year hiatus, the fantastic sheep shearing demonstrations are making a welcome return to Cannon Hall Farm this Summer.

Families are invited to join the our farmers in the roundhouse display barns as they shear their flock of sheep – and talk visitors through why we do this, and where the wool goes. So it's not only fun, but educational too!

The activity is included with general farm admission, so you can also spend the full day having fun on the farm, visiting the animals, experiencing the brand new accessible play areas (which have just had a multi-million pound investment) plus sheep and ferret racing and tractor rides, plus watching meerkat feeding sessions.

The reptile house will showcase a team of working ants and many other fascinating creatures, the mammal house is home to some of the most unusual and rare mini beasts.

Entry into the soft play is also included with admission – plus there’s a free quiz trail to help keep the kids occupied. So there really is something for everyone!

Huddersfield Leisure Centre Splash Park

With reviews claiming it's the best leisure water experience in West Yorkshire, there's lots to do for youngsters and adults alike at Huddersfield Leisure Centre.

Think water buckets, jets, a lazy river, small slides and a fun pool. But for the bigger ones among us, there's the water flume and side winder.

Huddersfield Climbing Centre

Designed to suit all ages, Freeklime is one of the best climbing centres around.

Freeklime Huddersfield features a variety of bouldering walls that cater to all levels of difficulty. From easy to challenging routes, you'll find walls that are designed to test your skills and push you to your limits!

Entry is £9.50 for adults or £8.50 for under 21's, over 60s and students (£3 for under 3 years and under!) and shoe hire is £3. Book online, here.
