7 Home and Away questions after this week's Australian episodes

From Digital Spy

Home and Away spoilers follow from Australian pace episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away has aired a busy week of episodes on Australian screens, with Susie's true colours being exposed and two characters returning to Summer Bay.

Meanwhile, there have been sad scenes for the Stewart family as Martha's mental health has reached a crisis point.

Here are seven big questions we've been left with after the latest Australian episodes.

1. What is Susie up to?

John Palmer can rarely catch a break, so perhaps it's no surprise that his shiny new romance is too good to be true. Things seemed to be looking up for John when glamorous newcomer Susie took an interest in him, but we've now discovered that she has a major ulterior motive.

When John popped out for a while and left Susie in his house, she shamelessly rifled through his financial records – seemingly to find out how rich he is. Before long, Susie was moving into John's home and suggesting that they should spend the night together for the first time.

It's clear that Susie is up to no good – and Shane Withington, who plays John, has promised "a terrific run" as their storyline intensifies. For now, though, the finer details of Susie's masterplan remain unclear.

2. Could Justin and Leah become Susie's targets?

Justin and Leah took some time out to discuss their future this week and decided that they'd like to buy a house together. They made this choice after Tori and Christian's engagement left them with food for thought over their own relationship.

As Justin and Leah made tentative steps to begin their search, they were intrigued to meet – uh oh – real estate consultant Susie for the first time. Viewers know that they should be steering well clear of her, but are they heading straight for trouble as Summer Bay's new schemer makes her mark?

3. Can Bella ever forgive Willow?

The comeback fans had been waiting for finally aired this week, as Willow returned to Summer Bay for the first time since she testified against Colby at his trial. This gave Willow the chance to reveal the full story behind her "Witness X" decision for the first time.

Bella was not won over as Willow insisted that she was protecting their family by sacrificing Colby. However, Dean saw the sense in Willow's reasoning and made the big decision to forgive her.

After seeing her whole world fall apart following Willow's betrayal, it seems that forgiveness will be a much longer journey for Bella. Can she ever make amends with Willow and bring their fractured family unit back together?

4. Are Dean's dark times over?

Dean has endured a difficult few months – dealing with Colby's imprisonment, his split from Ziggy, Willow's betrayal and Amber doing a disappearing act with their son Jai. However, this week's episodes saw Amber make a return after Willow encouraged her to give Dean another chance.

Much to the surprise of Dean, a much calmer Amber hinted that she no longer felt it was the right choice to cut him off from Jai.

After seeking some reassurances that they could get things back on track, Amber promised that she'd be in touch again soon to discuss Dean's access to their child. Is this the positive turning point Dean needed?

5. Is it all over for Mackenzie and Ari?

Mackenzie and Ari returned from a trip away this week, all loved-up after escaping the pressures caused by Mia and Chloe's arrival in the Bay. Unfortunately, it didn't take long before things turned sour again.

As Mac and Ari enjoyed some cosy time together at the Parata house and Mia walked in, Ari awkwardly jumped apart from his girlfriend. This surprising reaction baffled Mac, who questioned what he had to feel guilty about.

Mac felt like she was back at square one, unsure what the future holds for her and Ari now that his family are back in the Bay.

Before long, Mac's worst fears were realised as Ari confirmed that he needed some space from her to clear his head. Is this the beginning of the end for their relationship?

6. When will Christian discover Lewis's grudge?

Working life at the Northern Districts Hospital has been far from harmonious since Lewis joined as a new employee. Things turned heated when Christian prepared to operate on a patient after taking a sip of alcohol at his engagement party earlier that day.

Lewis challenged Christian on this breach of the rules and forced him to back down. Christian blamed his new nemesis when the patient later died – convinced that he could have prevented this if he'd been allowed to operate.

Tori was put in the awkward position of having to resolve the dispute, so Jasmine filled her in on how Lewis secretly blames Christian for the death of his partner Anna.

Crucially though, neither of them shared this important information with Christian. How long will it take before Christian finds out what's really going on here – and realises that Tori kept it from him?

7. When will Martha get the help she needs?

Martha's mental health has taken a sad turn for the worse following Kieran's dramatic departure from Summer Bay. As Martha struggled to process the upsetting events, she became convinced that close family members like Alf and Roo were out to get her.

Martha also started seeing visions of Kieran around the Bay and remained completely unaware that he wasn't really there.

Although Alf and Roo are both worried about how Martha is coping, they currently have no idea of the extent of her problems. How long will it take before Martha gets the help she so desperately needs?

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
