An Arkansas woman suspected of abducting her eight biological children from their foster families has been arrested.

In a statement posted to Facebook on Saturday, The Anderson Police Department said that Trista Fullerton, 36, was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail.

According to police, a person contacted authorities around 12:30 a.m. requesting a welfare check after noticing six children with a woman who they claimed was displaying “bizarre behavior.”

When officers arrived, they found the woman and children parked in a Dodge pickup with Arkansas license plates.

Police said the woman was identified as Fullerton and she had been wanted on a felony warrant for the alleged kidnapping of eight children.

Police said Fullerton was the biological mother of all of the children, but had lost her custodial rights and allegedly abducted them from their foster families. The children were reunited with their guardians after being released to Shasta County Children and Family Services.

It’s unclear if Fullerton has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on her behalf.
