An 84 year old grandmother, Iris Jones, who married an Egyptian man 46 years her junior, has issued a stark warning about the dangers of online dating.

Iris, a mother of two, became a media sensation after discussing her relationship with 37 year old Mohamed Ibriham on ITV's This Morning. The couple met on Facebook and married in Egypt in November 2020.

However, their marriage ended last year. Speaking to Closer magazine, Iris shared: "I never expected to fall in love with someone 46 years younger than me, but I did. I adored everything about Mohamed".

She noted that while things were initially wonderful, the relationship eventually soured due to constant arguments.

Recently, Iris took to Facebook to caution others about the risks of online romance. She warned: "A warning to all vulnerable women online, chatting to scammers and con-artists, thinking they are messaging genuine males on legitimate dating sites.", reports the Liverpool Echo.

"Be aware that they are only interested in getting their filthy paws on your money and will sweet-talk you for weeks, or even months in order to achieve their goal. I, myself, have been targeted by four scammers in the last few months and regard myself now as a competent scam hunter! ".

Iris took a moment to share that she had sent a "final email" to the swindler who, according to her, tried to exploit her into losing thousands of pounds. She further added with evident glee, "I have really enjoyed being the puppet master, having you dance to my tune. It only remains for me to say that I am delighted that you exited my life EMPTY-HANDED! ! ! ! Tootle-pip, sunshine."
