Nestled in the rolling Surrey Hills, quintessentially British country estate Beaverbrook, is hosting a series of holistic, nurturing retreats this summer. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioner and acupuncturist James Mutkin will hold two one-day events of TCM massage, Thai yoga, shiatsu, gong baths and acupuncture on July 17 and 18, while if nutrition’s your thing, Amanda Porter will take guests through a two-day digestive health journey to address issues like IBS, acid reflux, constipation and bloating, and offer approaches to gut health and abdominal massage on July 23-24 and September 17-18. For spiritual souls meanwhile, druids Jo Dunbar and Adrian Rooke will hold a Celtic healing ritual involving sacred singing, guided meditations and plenty of forest immersion on July 26 and 27.

Bespoke fitness retreat in Kent
Based in the Kent countryside, an easy train ride from London, Stede Court offers private fitness-focused retreats hosted by former celebrity PT Kathryn Freeland, who curates bespoke stays of between one and seven nights for up to six people (private groups only). Start your day with circuits in the woodland or yoga on the decking, followed by country runs and long walks, after which you can laze in the hammock, take a dip in swimming pond and unwind in the outdoor sauna. Mindfulness and meditation sessions are on offer too, as are onsite massages and other pampering treatments.

Kayaking and wildcamping in Pembrokeshire
This one-night retreat in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is an ideal escape for adventurers. By day you’ll explore secluded bays, caves and wooded estuaries as you kayak your way along the rugged coastline - spending four to five hours each day in the water - before wild camping on the beach. Brush up on your bushcraft skills, go sea-foraging and fish for supper before cooking it over an open campfire and bivvying under the stars. Groups are kept to a maximum of up to eight.

Mindful wild camping in Dartmoor National Park
Wandering Wild hosts mindful wild camping and walking retreats at Dartmoor National Park. Expect three days of guided meditations, wild swimming, stargazing, walking among wild ponies, admiring stone circles and sourcing and filtering your own drinking water straight from the river. Groups are kept to a maximum of seven people and led by trained hill and moorland guide Henriette Lofstrom, who knows all of the sweet spots. On arrival you’ll be supplied with a backpack containing everything you need for living under the open sky, including a private tent, sleep mat, head torch, cooking equipment and food and snacks.

Bounce back in rural Somerset
In need of a full body and mind reboot? Bounce Back is a four-day retreat hosted by psychotherapist and intuitive healer Fiona Arrigo, joined by transformational life coach Dominique Stelling, and set in a beautiful house in the heart of rural Somerset. Guests will partake in daily guided meditations, healing treatments, movement sessions, sharing circles and workshops, in between which they’re welcome to chill out in the pool and sauna, play tennis and roam the surrounding countryside by bike or on foot.

Wild sea swimming in Cornwall
Like the sound of perfecting your front crawl in gorgeous Cornish waters? St Michaels Resort in Falmouth has launched a series of open-water swimming retreats in partnership with Swim Lab. Swim guru and coach Salim Ahmed will lead each retreat, with guided sea swims and lessons in breathing and technique. Indulge in beach yoga and coastal walks, before recovering with a treatment in the wellness spa, complete with a Cornish sea-salt steam room and outdoor barrel sauna. The two-night retreats, open to both experienced open water swimmers and novices wishing to dip their toe in the water, run from Friday to Sunday, with a maximum of 10 guests per group.

Digital detox in the Essex countryside
Glass House Retreat in Essex has just unveiled a new natural outdoor swimming pond, Finnish sauna and wellness dome, which will host coaching sessions and meditation sessions. Day and overnight spa packages include a 25-minute facial or body scrub in the Elemis spa, âyoga, cardio and/or Pilates classes, vegan cooking workshops, use of the indoor heated swimming pool and Himalayan salt block sauna, as well as a mobile phone safe to ensure you have a complete digital detox. Head chef Miguel Gouveia prepares organic plant-based dishes and alcohol and caffeine are strictly off the menu at this detox-focused retreat. The island retreat
Located on the Isles of Scilly off the Cornish Coast, with heather-clad hills on one half and pristine beaches on the other, Tresco Island makes an idyllic setting for a reboot. This year it will host a series of wellness breaks, including a yoga retreat led by Lucy Aldridge, taking place in a studio overlooking the harbour, as well as an open-water swimming retreat coached by Keri-Anne Payne of Triscape.
