999 response after reports of 'person with weapon' on residential street

POLICE descended on a residential street in Glasgow’s East End following reports of a person ‘with a weapon’.

We previously reported that officers were pictured in the Onslow Road area of Dennistoun on Thursday afternoon.

Cops confirmed they were called to the area at around 1.05pm after they received reports of a person 'in possession of a weapon'.

(Image: Newsquest staff) After attending the scene police say that no weapon was found.

However, a 30-year-old person was reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with alleged drug offences.

(Image: Newsquest staff) A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.05pm on Thursday, July 4, 2024 officers received a report of a person in possession of a weapon in Onslow Drive, Glasgow.

“Officers attended and no weapon was found. A 30-year-old has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with drugs offences.”
