Standstill traffic on A38 in Devon after vehicle overturns
There is currently standstill traffic on the A38 in Devon after a vehicle overturned this evening. The A38 has been closed in both directions between the B3344 near Newton Abbot (south) and B3193 near Chudleigh Kinghton.
A witness has reported seeing a huge emergency service presence at the scene. They said there are currently five police cars, three ambulances, and three fire trucks in attendance at the scene.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said the driver is out and being checked over. They added that diversion routes are being put in place.

The force said: "The A38 is currently closed in both directions as we attend a collision at Chudleigh Knighton. A vehicle has overturned and the driver is out and being checked by ambulance crews. Diversions are being put in place but please avoid the area where possible."
National Highways has said the A38 has now closed in both directions and that its traffic officers are at the scene. It said: "The A38 is closed in both directions - between the B3344 near Newton Abbot (south) and B3193 Chudleigh Kinghton Closure is due to a collision/overturned vehicle. Our Traffic Officers are at scene with [Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team]. Diversion via local roads."
