An abandoned plane was found crashed in a Norfolk field.

The plane was found in a field in Northrepps yesterday at 6.30pm.

When police attended the scene, they found the empty aircraft but no people were present.

Initial investigations have revealed that the incident had happened earlier in the day and the pilot and passenger, who had sustained minor injuries, had visited a medical centre for treatment.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed of the incident by the pilot.

Northrepps is home to the privately owned Northrepps Aerodrome in north Norfolk.

Last week, an air accident investigation was published after a plane's wheels came off as it landed at the Northrepps Aerodrome in January.
