‘Abbott Elementary’: Josh Segarra, Kimia Behpoornia & Benjamin Norris Join Season 3
EXCLUSIVE: Abbott Elementary is almost back in session and Season 3 will bring three new characters portrayed by Josh Segarra (The Big Door Prize), Kimia Behpoornia (Hacks) and Benjamin Norris (Never Have I Ever) in recurring roles.
Segarra will portray Manny, Behpoornia will portray Emily and Norris will portray Simon. The trio are the good-natured Philadelphia school district representatives who aim to bring fresh perspectives to their roles as school ambassadors.

The ABC hit comedy returns with two new episodes for premiere on February 7. The series picks up mid-school year and will consist of 14 episodes, following last year’s dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Segarra currently stars in the Apple TV+ comedy, The Big Door Prize, opposite Chris O’Dowd. In 2023, Segarra starred in Scream 6 opposite Courteney Cox, Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera. Last summer, he starred as “Lance” in the third season of the HBO Max comedy series and opposite Stephen Amell as “Brooks Rizzo” in the Starz wrestling drama series Heels. In 2022, Segarra joined the Marvel universe and starred in the Disney+ series She-Hulk, alongside Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth and Ginger Gonzaga. He is repped by CAA, ATA Management and Jackoway, Austen, Tyerman & Wertheimer et all.
Behpoornia is an actor, writer and improviser who was a series regular on the NBC multi-cam Abby’s, and has recurred or guest starred on Max’s Hacks, Hulu’s Reboot and Netflix’s Atypical, among others. On the features side, Behpoornia starred in The Unicorn Store, directed by Brie Larson, and Pop Rox, a finalist for best short and actor at the 2017 NBC Diversity Shorts Program. She is represented by LB Talent Agency and Seven Summits Pictures and Management.
Norris is a writer and performer who most recently starred in the Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher Netflix series Never Have I Ever as the honest, caring and often clueless Trent and in the 2023 revival of iCarly. Previously, Norris starred in NBC’s Superstore. He is repped by UTA and Authentic.
