Rangers star Abadallah Sima could be set for another spell on the sidelines after being forced off early against Hearts.

The Senegalese winger has only recently returned from a hamstring injury after missing the first chunk of the New Year. But the 22-year-old's season could potentially be over after the Brighton loanee pulled up early into this afternoon's Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.

Sima was replaced by Ross McCausland with just 16 minutes on the clock and cut a frustrated figure as he limped off the pitch. Boss Philippe Clement shared a brief moment with the Brighton loanee on the touchline before Sima made his way up towards the dugout area.

The extent of his latest setback remains to be seen but Sima's injury will be a major concern for the Light Blues ahead of the title run-in.

Premier Sports commentator and Rangers legend Ally McCoist said: "He started very brightly. It's also worth mentioning that the substitution that's been enforced on Rangers, there might have been a train of thought that he would have brought on Fabio Silva. But he hasn't, he's gone for the young lad. So that's an interesting one."

Sima has 16 goals and two assists for Rangers since arriving on a season-long loan from Brighton last summer.
