Daniel Farke faces the media on Friay afternoon for his pre-match press conference. The Leeds United manager will take questions from television, radio, print and online journalists at Thorp Arch ahead of the Middlesbrough clash on Monday night.

Here is a run-down of some of the main topics on the agenda for the boss to address at the training ground today.

Confidence rebuilt?

In the six days since losing to Blackburn Rovers, what has Daniel Farke done to reset minds and restore confidence in the Leeds ranks? The 15-match unbeaten run has not been quickly forgotten, but one win in the last five games speaks for itself and requires some form of managerial intervention.

Working on efficiency in front of goal was mentioned after Saturday’s loss, while the players are known to have been given some time off to recharge their batteries too.

Injury latest

Jamie Shackleton was the only player we knew about with an injury issue coming out of the Blackburn game. Fingers will be crossed there are no bombshells from Farke on the medical front with any other names.

Stuart Dallas has now retired, while we know Pascal Struijk has already been ruled out for the rest of the season. Wilfried Gnonto and Connor Roberts were being managed through their returns from lay-offs and will hopefully be making good progress after their starts.

Klaesson

Reports in Norway of a road traffic collision involving a footballer emerged this week. It transpires the footballer in question was Leeds goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson. The stopper is not understood to have suffered any major injuries.

Farke could well be asked for an update on the Norwegian following the incident.

Ayling and Greenwood’s progress and absence

Sam Greenwood and Luke Ayling will be key absentees for the hosts on Monday night as their parent club arrives in town. The two loanees have been used regularly by Michael Carrick since arriving on Teesside and their boss will have to find alternative solutions.

Farke may be asked about the progress they have made with Boro and how closely his staff have kept an eye on the pair.

Reassurances about a summer without promotion?

The release of the accounts earlier this month has given everyone a clearer picture of where the Whites are at financially. In an era where money management has never been more scrutinised or penalised by the authorities, Leeds have to ensure their books remain within the permitted losses.

At a very basic level, it appears, without an injection of Premier League cash this summer, Leeds will need to cut their cloth accordingly before the end of June. If the Whites are to avoid future penalties, it seems sales of some of their best talent will be needed in the event they are planning for Championship football next term.

Farke may be asked if he’s sought any reassurances or been offered any by the board about what the future may hold if they do fall short of promotion next month. What does the future look like going into a second Championship campaign?
