Adam Idah on brink of Celtic transfer as striker makes stance clear to force Norwich exit

Adam Idah is on the verge of a return to Celtic.

The Hoops made their move for the £6 million-rated striker on Wednesday. Talks between the two clubs are now at an advanced stage. There has been significant progress made by Celtic and a deal is close. Idah is expected to be given permission to travel north for talks, a medical and to put pen to paper. The Republic of Ireland star has made it clear to Norwich City that wants to rejoin the Scottish champions this summer.

Norwich had made it clear that new boss Johannes Hoff Thorup wanted to run the eye over Idah in pre-season but the player has made his position clear. The 23-year-old wants to go back to Celtic to play under Brendan Rodgers again. He is now set to get his wish. Rodgers made it clear after Idah’s Scottish Cup winner against Rangers that he wanted to bring him back to Celtic Park.

He now looks set to get his wish. Celtic are also likely to off-set some of the fee by selling South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu, with Belgian side Genk ready to pay a fee in excess of £4million to land him. The Hoops haven’t done much in the transfer window so far, but Idah has been one of their top targets.
