Peter Grant has told Celtic that signing Adam Idah for £5million would be a transfer bargain.

The big frontman is oan from Norwich City until the end of the season, and while his Deadline Day arrival was met with a lukewarm response from the Parkhead faithful, he's proved a useful addition to Brendan Rodgers' attacking options. Seven goals and two assists in 14 outings is a healthy return, and the Cork man offers physical presence up top that the champions had been lacking in the first part of the season.

The Canaries are chasing promotion to the English Premier League via the playoffs and have quoted Celtic a fee of £5million if they want to keep Idah beyond the summer. But Grant reckons the Irish international is technically BETTER than previous star man Moussa Dembele, who was flogged for £20million to Lyon after spearheading Rodgers' wildly successful first stint in charge.

When on GO Radio asked if he would sign Idah, Grant replied: : "For £5m? I think so because it is very difficult to get any striker for that type of money. I know he's not a number nine, but Sammie Smzodics has been scoring a lot of goals, and now you are talking about £15-20m for him at Blackburn who are sitting near the bottom of the league.

"We know what Idah can do and what he offers. He is hungry to score goals and is young. I think if he keeps taking the chances he can get better and more clinical, and you could end up getting big money again. Look what happened with Moussa Dembele. And I think he (Idah) is technically better than Moussa. They are different types of players but technique wise I think he brings that to his game as well."
