Former ‘Emmerdale’ star Adam Thomas has announced the closure of his much-loved restaurant The Spinn.

Adam’s childhood dreams came to fruition when he opened the burger joint in Gatley, Manchester, alongside his childhood friend Scott Graham back in 2019.

However, The Spinn has been closed and boarded up in the past week, and locals were left wondering whether the restaurant had been closed for refurbishment or for good.

The 32-year-old soap star confirmed to the Manchester Evening News: "Unfortunately we have decided to close The Spinn. We did what we had to do with The Spinn and we learnt so much building our first venture and more importantly we had an absolute blast …

"But after three years we felt the time was right for us to move on. We are now focusing on the next chapter of The Spinn … The Spinn Off and Oh My Glaze.

"With the success The Spinn Off is having and Oh My Glaze, we wanted to concentrate on building and expanding them and in order for us to do so we had to close The Spinn."

The duo are set to focus on the “next chapter” with their recently launched The Spin Off bar at Stockport's Underbanks, as well as their burger sauce company Oh My Glaze – which hosted a burger and fries pop-up at the Trafford Centre earlier this year.

Since high school, Adam and Scott spoke about going into business together, and while Adam moved into acting after secondary school, Scott, 33, successfully launched Oh My Glaze.

It wasn’t until a spontaneous night out at a casino, the two vowed that if they won the roulette wheel, they’d finally go ahead with the launch.

The winning spin of the roulette was the inspiration behind the name of the business, as the pair saw it as a sign.
