Additional charges have been laid against a Woolwich Township man over a historic sexual assault.

In a media release issued Thursday, police said Steven Lehmann, 52, was charged this week with two counts of sexual assault relating to an incident that occurred in 2008.

Lehmann was already facing charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation. Police laid those charges in April.

Lehmann is known in the region as a music producer, arranger, and musical director.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 13.

Police said the investigation began in March, when they received a report of a historic sexual assault that took place between 2008 and 2009. The investigation is ongoing.
