Adorable Boy Travels Up and Down Basketball Court, Determined to Make Shot

A light-footed Florida preschooler whose mother said “would not give up the ball until he made a shot” delighted the crowd at a basketball game in early March as he traveled up and down the court, not dribbling once, in a determined effort to score.

The adorable video was captured by the boy’s mom, Martinique Kelty, who said her three-year-old Safari had “all eyes on him” for a straight 71 seconds as he tried to make the net during a game in St. Petersburg on March 2.

Safari’s teammates can be seen raising their arms in the video, asking him to pass the ball, but to no avail.

Kelty told Storyful that this was Safari’s last game of the season so he was determined to make a shot, even if that meant playing “in everybody’s face.”

Safari stole the show and was dubbed “happy feet” by his team due to his nifty footwork, Kelty said. Credit: Martinique Kelty via Storyful
