Adrien Brody thriller series won't return for season 2
Chapelwaite, starring Adrien Brody and Schitt's Creek actress Emily Hampshire, will not have a second season, its writer has confirmed
The thriller series followed Brody as Captain Charles Boone after his wife tragically died at sea; he and his children return to a rural Maine town where a dark familial history haunts them.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), series co-creator Jason Filardi announced that there would be no second season.
"I'm afraid Captain Boone's story ends on that beach of weathered, Maine sand. There will be no season 2. Thank you to all the Chapelwaite fans!"

Chapelwaite was co-created by Jason and Peter Filardi, and is based on the short story Jerusalem's Lot by Stephen King.
The first season consisted of 10 episodes and aired in 2021; although a second season was never officially greenlit, production company Epix Studios confirmed at the time that it was in development.
"Chaplewaite Season 2 continues as a terrifying re-imagining of classic gothic horror that chronicles one family's battle with an ancient and persistent evil.
"We will learn that the Boone curse didn't die with Jakub, and despite Charles's selfless act at the end of Season 1, De Vermis Mysteriis remains as powerful as ever, and as alluring to a new generation of vampires."

Chapelwaite was executive produced by Donald De Line, as well as Jason and Peter Filardi. No further explanation for the cancellation has been offered.
Adrien Brody is next set to star in Manodrome, a movie about a men's cult, opposite Jesse Eisenberg.
Brody plays the cult leader Dan; a first-look trailer revealed Eisenberg's character struggling to make ends meet with his pregnant partner Sal (Odessa Young).
The first look also gave viewers at Ralphie (Eissenberg) becoming more involved with the group, being branded and even shooting someone.
Manodrome is set for release in US cinemas on November 17.
