Afghanistan Vice President Escapes Deadly Kabul Blast

An explosion near a convoy carrying Afghanistan Vice President Amrullah Saleh killed a number of people in Kabul’s Taimani district on September 9, local reports said. Saleh escaped unhurt.

At least two people were killed, according to Khalil Noori with the BBC World Service. Other reports put the number higher.

Video released to local media after the blast showed Saleh speaking to camera. According to local translations, he reported minor burns but was otherwise unhurt.
