Aid Parachutes Repurposed as Tents on Gaza's Coast

Parachutes used to drop humanitarian aid were seen being repurposed as makeshift tents and canopies in a coastal area of Gaza, recent footage shows.

This video was captured by local journalist Ayman al-Gedi, who posted it on June 20 and said people used the parachutes attached to aid packages dropped from planes to fashion shady places to rest.

The parachutes were seen being reused as large parasols in other footage that circulated online that day. Credit: Ayman al-Gedi via Storyful
