Great North Air Ambulance and North East Ambulance Service respond after car collides with pedestrian in Seaton Sluice

Emergency services including the Great North Air Ambulance were called to the scene after a car collided with a pedestrian in Seaton Sluice. The incident took place near the Waterford Arms on Monday, just after 3pm.

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called just after 3.20 on Monday 17 June to an incident involving a car and pedestrian, next to the Waterford Arms, Seaton Sluice.

"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance, two resources from our Hazardous Area Response Team and requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance. One patient was taken by road to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital."

A Great North Air Ambulance Service spokesperson also said: "Yesterday our critical care team was activated at 3.24pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Seaton Sluice.

"We had a doctor and paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 3.33pm. Our team worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient. They returned back to their base at 4.15pm."
