Aldi launches new burgers that rival popular McDonald's item

Aldi has launched a new burger that it claims can 'rival McDonald's', offering a similar taste experience for a fraction of the cost.

The budget supermarket chain, renowned for its cost-effective alternatives, is tempting customers with a burger that's said to compete with the McSpicy, and according to Aldi, it's about 79% cheaper than purchasing one from McDonald's.

McDonald's introduced the McSpicy to UK diners in 2022, touting it as a "hot and spicy chicken breast in crispy coating, served with crunchy lettuce, and a classic sandwich sauce served in a sesame seed bun".

With the McSpicy priced at approximately £5.59, Aldi claims it can provide the components for a homemade "fakeaway" version for just £1.19.

The Gastro Flamin' Hot Chicken Fillet Burgers, which are described by Aldi as "100% pure juicy chicken breast covered in a fiery coating and a crispy breadcrumb", hit the shelves today (Monday, May 13), priced at £3.29 for a pack of four.

To complete the meal, Aldi suggests pairing the burgers with its Village Bakery Sliced Seeded Burger Buns, available at £1.09 for a six-pack, and a Nature's Pick Iceberg Lettuce for 79p, allowing customers to assemble "four delicious chicken burgers" at the cost of £1.19 each, reports the Liverpool Echo.
