Health enthusiasts are being alerted to a new product that could save them money on their fitness journey.

Aldi, the budget supermarket, is set to disrupt the supplements market with its latest offering - Activ Max Whey Protein Powder. This new addition to the supermarket's fitness range provides a more affordable option for those looking to increase their protein intake compared to other well-known brands.

The powder will be available in stores from June 6 and will be part of the Specialbuys section in the middle aisle, meaning once they're sold out, they won't be restocked.

Ideal for customers wanting to enhance their workouts, Aldi's Activ Max Whey Protein Powder will be priced at £12.99 for a 500g pack. In comparison to MyProtein's signature Impact Whey Protein Powder, which usually retails at £41.99 for 1kg, gym enthusiasts can save just over £16 by purchasing two packs of Aldi's alternative.

The Aldi product will come in two flavours - vanilla or chocolate. These can be added to smoothies, milkshakes or yoghurt for a 'sweet and filling' protein boost, 'fuelling workouts and supporting muscle recovery'.

Each flavour provides up to 18g of protein per 25g serving and uses natural flavourings. For an extra energy boost before important workouts, Aldi is also introducing the new Activ Max Pre-workout and Activ Max Creatine (£9.99), reports Wales Online.

Additionally, Aldi's Protein Shaker is available for just £2.99, making it the perfect workout bundle. Fitness fanatics can also choose from Aldi's weighted options in the middle aisle.

The Dumbbell Set with Rack (£24.99), perfect for home workouts and comes with a handy storage stand, includes sets of 1, 2 and 3kg weights. Aldi also offers Kettlebell options in either 8kg (£9.99) or 6kg (£5.99) for those looking to expand their weight training equipment.
