Aldi has announced its latest food release will be taking on the sandwich titans of Subway, with a new collection of sauces. The nation’s cheapest supermarket will be launching four new game-changing sauces to help shoppers take their sub rolls to the next level.

The new sauces will set customers back just £1.79 for a 500ml. Shoppers will be able to get their hands on the Bramwells sauces as a Specialbuy from Sunday, June 30.

And like with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone. Shoppers will be able to try the options in four tasty flavours - Marinara, Chipotle Mayonnaise, Teriyaki Glaze and Sweet Onion - offering the perfect pairing to shopper favourite, Village Bakery Metro Rolls (£1.39, four pack).

Shoppers can recreate the iconic Subway rolls including Teriyaki Chicken Combo and Meatball Marinara Combo for a fraction of the price, saving up to a cool 52 per cent using Aldi ingredients. The Bramwells sauces have already sent tongues wagging on social media ahead of their imminent arrival.

Popular food page @UKnewestfoods shared the news on its Instagram page. Tessiib89 said: “WELL DONE ALDI! hope they taste as good too.”

Whatydid commented, “Aldi coming thru for the Southwest sauce girlies,” _alwayshungryhannag_ wrote, “Please someone tell me if the sweet onion tastes the same cause I’m always mad I can’t get it.”

Daniellerice22 said: “Cannot wait to try them.” Nattyj_nemo responded: “Absolutely brilliant. Can't wait to try them.” Comunicantenellospazio_ said: “I tried it and it was banging!!!”

And if you’re looking to recreate some of Subway’s most iconic subs at home for a fraction of the price, Aldi has shared some helpful pointers.

Teriyaki Chicken Combo

Start with your Metro Roll, add Specially Selected West Country Butter Roast Chicken, Nature's Pick Baby Plum Tomatoes, and Nature's Pick Baby Cucumbers, finely sliced Nature’s Pick Red Onion, before finishing with a slathering of Bramwells Teriyaki Sauce.

Total £7.41 — £1.85 per Sub vs £3.89 at Subway (52 per cent saving)

Meatball Marinara Combo

Start with your Metro Roll, add perfectly cooked Ashfields Beef Meatballs, layer on Emporium British Smoky Cheddar Cheese Slices to melt over the top and finish with a heap of Bramwells Marinara Sauce.

Total £7.06 — £1.77 per Sub vs £3.49 at Subway (49 per cent saving)

Chipotle Mayonnaise Combo

Start with your Metro Roll, add Specially Selected Applewood Smoked Finely Sliced Ham, Nature's Pick Baby Cucumbers, finely sliced Nature’s Pick Red Onion and Nature's Pick Sweet Mini Peppers, before finishing with a good amount of Bramwells Chipotle Mayonnaise Sauce.
